MN for the Win

One Step Closer to the Hall of Fame (Rangers Series Recap, 8/19-8/22)

August 23, 2022 David Kuhfuss and Dan Thompson Season 3 Episode 41
MN for the Win
One Step Closer to the Hall of Fame (Rangers Series Recap, 8/19-8/22)
Show Notes

This series did not go as David and Dan assumed and certainly not as hoped for the Twins, who lose three of four to the Texas Rangers, a team that is 10 games under .500 and far from the playoff picture. The Twins find themselves two games behind the Cleveland Guardians. Minnesota scores just six runs in the four-game series, wasting four very good outings from its starting pitchers by coupling that effort with a 2-for-26 stretch with runners in scoring position. David has plenty of criticism to go around. Dan is still fixated on the long-relief role for some reason. They find the two bright spots in the series for their Minnesota Moments, and then they discuss a hypothetical Albert Pujols at bat that David somehow relates to Brett Favre. Finally, they discuss the merits of being a member of the Twins Hall of Fame, into which the organization inducted three more members during an otherwise forgettable series. Thanks for listening, and go Twins!
