August 04, 2022 David Kuhfuss and Dan Thompson Season 3 Episode 36
MN for the Win
The Unsinkable Jake Cave (Tigers Series Recap, 8/1-8/3)
Show Notes

Amid a flurry of trade deadline deals, the Twins find themselves flush with pitchers and short on healthy outfielders. This led to the long-awaited call-up of Jake Cave, who will arguably play more games for the Twins the rest of the way than Miguel Sano will. Go figure. Dan and Hoges -- filling in for David -- discuss the Twins' additions of Tyler Mahle, Jorge Lopez and Michael Fulmer, plus the instantly impactful add of backup catcher Sandy Leon. Yet even after winning two of three from the Tigers, the Twins are clinging to a small lead over the Guardians and White Sox, and while Dan and Hoges agree that the Twins are the best team in the division, they recognize that Minnesota is still very much in a pennant race. They also discuss the rise of Jose Miranda and look around the league at the busy trade deadline, which sets up yet another Twins' matchup against Whit Merrifield this weekend against the Blue Jays.  Thanks for listening, and go Twins.
